Supporting autistic children and young people to thrive in education, work and life.

Bristol Futures is a brand-new service from Autism Unlimited, offering the already successful Futures education model to a younger age group in the Bristol area.

Our approach is designed for children and young people with an EHCP referencing autism or complex needs who need a personalised pathway to help them grow in confidence, develop new skills, and prepare for the next stage in life.

Bristol Futures provides a highly individualised programme. Learners are supported to:

  • Follow an academic (including Maths and English) and vocational curriculum built around their needs and interests

  • Gain real-world experience in their local community

  • Explore opportunities for voluntary or paid work as they grow older

  • Build independence and social connections at a pace that works for them

Building on what works

Our well-established Futures provision in Christchurch, has been supporting learners to achieve their ambitions for many years. Learners and their families tell us it makes a real difference – creating an environment where young people feel understood, respected, and encouraged to flourish.

Bristol Futures brings this same model of support and education to a younger age group, so that children can begin their Futures journey earlier and benefit from consistent, specialist support as they grow.

Why Bristol Futures?

  • Tailored learning programmes designed around each learner's strengths

  • Small groups or 1:1 with experienced, specialist staff

  • Opportunities to learn both in the classroom and in the community

  • A focus on independence, wellbeing, and preparation for adulthood
