The end of July marked the end of the school year for our students and a time for reflection and celebration before a period of rest. For their celebration, Portfield Sixth Form came together for the annual Sixth Form graduation ceremony. It was a joyful, proud and uplifting evening that recognised each student’s achievements, strengths and the unique journeys they have taken throughout their time with us.
Families and staff attended the ceremony to witness our graduates receive their awards, marking not only their academic accomplishments but also the personal growth, confidence and independence they have built along the way.
Awards were given out to students for Arts, Drama, Most Improved in Sport, Independence, Music and Work Experience, along with certificates given out to students from each class and students receiving their Record of Achievement, outlining their progress throughout the year.
Deputy Headteacher of Portfield School and lead at Sixth Form, Shrehan Lynch spoke on the awards saying:
Congratulations to our graduating students on your incredible achievement, and to our continuing students, may your journey be filled with growth, determination, and success. We are proud of you all.
After the awards, there was the opportunity for students to have some fun as they partied the evening away with a silent disco, food and ice cream for them to enjoy. It was fantastic to see the students enjoying themselves and celebrating with their peers.
At Autism Unlimited, we are committed to creating opportunities and unlimited possibilities for autistic people. This graduation was a powerful reminder of what happens when young people are supported to learn in ways that work for them, encouraged to embrace their strengths and given space to grow into confident, capable adults.
We are incredibly proud of every one of our graduates and excited to see what they achieve next.
