Pepper, Cayden, and Max are students at Portfield School. Here, they share an insight into their autism, hobbies, and experiences.

Pepper enjoys hanging out with her friends, spending time in the playground and playing musical instruments. Despite the myth that autistic people don’t want to make friends, Pepper thrives from her many friendships. She finds it easy to make friends, and is always looking for a way to befriend every person she meets.

Cayden is a big fan of gaming, Pokemon, The Legends of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Super Mario Brothers. He has a huge imagination and memory, with the ability to remember tonnes of information, and hopes to become a Blacksmith in the future. In terms of his autism, he mentions his sensory sensitivities and restless leg syndrome.

Max discusses his ambition to become a scuba diving teacher. He first began diving last year and is now preparing to complete his final training dive in the summer. He hopes to move to Hawaii someday and pursue a full-time career teaching people scuba diving.
